Testing the cognitive function model of patients with bipolar disorder in relation to traumatic experiences in childhood by the mediating role of affective lability emotion and expressed emotion

Introduction: Previous studies suggest that the severity of alterations in cognitive functions people with a diagnosis bipolar I disorder are directly related to deterioration overall functioning and life quality. Aim: The present study aimed test functional model patients regarding childhood traumatic experiences based on mediating role emotional instability expressed emotion. Method: research method is descriptive-correlational modeling structural equations. sample population included all who were admitted Yahyanejad hospital Babol, Iran during 17 months (from March/April 2010 until mid-September 2020). In total, 379 subjects selected by convenience sampling. Data collection tools Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ) Bernstein Fink (1998), Emotional Instability Scale Oliver Simpson (2004), Expressed Emotion Level Hall & et al. (2007), Cognitive Abilities Nejati (2013). analysis was performed equation (SEM) SPSS version 24 Lisrel 8.8. Results: findings showed affect instability, emotion, function (P<0.5). Further, emotion play correlation between Conclusion: According results, have disorder. Therefore, order improve disorder, instrumented variables stability should be taken into consideration.
